Brooke began her yoga journey years ago as a last ditch effort to find relief from a painful injury. As the pain receded, the world of Yoga opened and beckoned.
She has been teaching yoga since 2009, when she completed her 200 hour teaching training with Bonnie Berk’s Yoga For Wellness. She is a Registered Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance, and is certified as a ChildLight Yoga instructor (CYT), and recently completed Yin Yoga training under Regina Varos.
Utilizing the practices of asana, meditation, pranayama and chanting, Brooke’s primary focus is on slow, mindful vinyasa with an appreciation for non-judgmental awareness. She strives to create a safe and open space for curiosity, humor and ultimately, gratitude for how the mind-body exists from moment to moment. She believes that the practice of yoga, whether in community or in solitude, is a crucible for transformation and she is passionate about sharing this vision.
Brooke enjoys walking, reading, creating art and spending time with her family. She is a Zen Buddhist priest and holds a masters degree in Buddhist Chaplaincy. She is the director of the LeTort Spring Sangha.
