Below is important information about the upcoming transition.

On August 19th our morning classes will be held at Simply Well - all afternoon and evening classes that day are canceled.

August 20th begins the modified class schedule at the church.  Click HERE for the schedule.

All classes from August 20 - September 1, will be held at The First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt St.   There is only ONE door that we will be using the enter the church.  It is in the back of the building connected to the parking lot near all the handicap spaces.  The church is handicap accessible and there is PLENTY of space for all of our students and many more.  The space that we will be using for classes is in the fellowship hall on the lower level. Once you get to the back door, there will be signs and staff to direct you where to go.

Back entrance attached to parking lot, this is the only door you will be able to access for classes.  Please arrive early and pre-register for class if possible, door locks automatically and our staff will be there for about 5 minutes after class time begins.

That last day of classes at the church will be Saturday September 1st.

We will be completely closed, no classes, on Sunday and Monday 9/2 & 9/3 and we open back up at Simply Well on Tuesday 9/4 to our new full September/October schedule.

Please look through the online schedule carefully to see what we had to modify to accommodate the church’s schedule.  There are some cancelations and some class additions.  We encourage all students to pre-register for classes in case a funeral comes up and we need to make a last minute cancelation.

We recommend that our members take home their stored mats by August 19 at noon.  We will not be moving personal mats to the church. All of our props and yoga mats to borrow will be there.

Thank you for supporting our studio and helping us to make it the most beautiful comfortable peaceful space as possible!  If you have any questions, email us at info@yogaatsimplywell.com

Happy Holidays!

Holiday Newsletter_copy1
It has been a pleasure to serve you this past year. We know how much you value yoga and the opportunity to practice in a beautiful, welcoming and safe space. It is our goal to continue offering high quality classes, teachers and staff to meet all your yoga needs.

Once again we've had a full year filled with positive growth. Some highlights include the addition of more weekly classes including speciality classes, like Amrit and Iyengar. We've expanded our front desk staff so that our teachers can focus more on being present with you as you set up for class. We are grateful to the seva staff who help with checking in and answering your questions.

Kids yoga is now offered EVERY week on Saturdays. Maggie and Amy are highly qualified and trained in working with kids. They have so much fun! In addition to our weekly kids yoga classes, they offer a kids' night out each quarter so that parents can have a date night or time to themselves.

In June we celebrated our 5 year anniversary. What a milestone and honor to celebrate with you! A big Thank You to everyone who came out, ate, drank and listened to good music.

In October we participated in the Carlisle Halloween Parade. The spooky military truck was overflowing with skeletons doing yoga. Our float won first place!

In addition to the abundant classes and numerous special workshops, we welcome new teachers to the team. It's great having Irene, Alison and Katie on board!

Our retail area has grown so that you can take home your own essential oils, yoga mat bags, t-shirts and other related products.

And lastly, it is wonderful to have Christine Lauriello as our office manager. For 2016 she will be working every day to help with the operations of the studio. Thank you Christine for y0ur dedication to keep things organized and running smoothly.
We hope that you will join us for our annual winter yoga retreat to the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts this February. We encourage you to participate in the 30 day challenge. This year we are partnering with Home Cooked Healing to offer a special health component. In addition to challenging yourself to do more yoga, you will have the opportunity to make bigger lifestyle changes.

Again we hope that you have a wonderful holiday and that 2016 is filled with joy, peace and love!

Best wishes,
Yoga at Simply Well

What the heck are these classes?

We pride ourselves in offering you the best classes and styles for learning and experiencing yoga. Sometimes it's a good idea to get off the beaten path and try something new! Have you considered taking Barre, Amrit Yoga, Iyengar Yoga or Yin Yoga lately?

Here is a quick guide to these classes and what to expect:

Barre

Barre is a challenging workout that combines pilates, yoga and ballet to give you a sculpted lean body. This class concentrates on the areas we struggle with the most: hips, thighs, seat, abdominals and arms. A Barre class combines small isolated holds and tiny movements paired with tremendous mental concentration to tone, lengthen and strengthen the entire body. This class is for all levels and anyone can join at anytime. Expect a challenge and prepare to leave feeling calmly energized.
Click HERE to view a quick video of Lisa demonstrating Barre!

Amrit Yoga

The class is based on a 26 posture sequence designed to break the reactive patterns of stress and negative thoughts. It combines a mixture of standing, balancing and floor poses with plenty of time and space in between to notice and feel the energy in your body. This Meditative class is a unique offering at Yoga at Simply Well. Paul is the only active Amrit teacher offering classes in the state of Pennsylvania. There is no music so that you can truly experience this class as a meditation in motion.  Read more about the Amrit Yoga method.

Iyengar Yoga

(pronounced eye young gar) focuses on proper alignment. We use props such as blankets, belts, bolsters and chairs combined with detailed instructions to allow for longer holds in the poses which serve to awaken the body's intelligence. Expect to develop strength, stamina, concentration, coordination and flexibility. It is accessible for students of all ages and physical conditions, however we do not recommended for brand new students. Learn more.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a practice of longer held "stretchy" postures to get into the body's connective tissue (ligaments, tendons and fascia). Sustaining postures for 3-5 minutes allows your body weight and gravity to deepen into the pose. Through Yin, one develops "core flexibility" as opposed to "core strength" while simultaneously opening energetic pathways. Even though the pace of this class is very slow, we do not recommend it for beginners unless you already have a keen sense of body awareness and know how to take care of yourself in class.

Halloween Float in the Carlisle Parade

Thank you to everyone who helped us out with the Yoga at Simply Well Float.  I especially want to recognize Jeremy and Lisa Stets for the use of their incredible military truck and skeleton creativity, Dave Eckelt for allowing random strangers in his yard for the past few weeks and all the many hours he put into the construction and to the Dargle Family for their creativity, dependability and hard work! Thank you!
